Peter Wegner is a painter particularly known for his installations and public art projects. Lever Labyrinth was published on the occasion of the installation of the same name, in the renowned Lever House at 390 Park Avenue in New York City, one of the first glass-walled International Style office buildings in the country. Wegner employed more than two million sheets of die-cut green paper to create a vast human-scale labyrinth or maze in the lobby of the building.

The book features texts, drawings, and photographs by the artist, documenting the conceptual background of the project (including research into the history and nature of labyrinths) and the design, development, and installation processes. Roughly two-thirds of the pages in the book consist of the same green sheets of paper used in the installation, which sandwich the printed central section, so that the book also functions as a physical trace of the work.

Inscribed intimately by Peter Wegner to a past collaborator.
