WARM-UPS

Kaprow, Allan

n.p. n.p., 1975.

First printing. (10) pp., 8.5 x 11 inches. Printed offset on stiff card, saddle-stapled into printed self-wrappers. Photos by Bee Ottinger. Item #4626

An Activity score in three parts, each part further divided into three sections comprising text and illustrative photographs.

“WARM-UPS was carried out by a small group of trios, using their own apartments, in and around Boston, in October of 1975. They met beforehand to understand the program, and afterwards to discuss their experiences. The trios, chosen by chance, interestingly enough, had one woman and two men in each of them, a fact that psychologically influenced the events and shaped the discussion. WARM-UPS was sponsored by the Center for Advanced Visual Studies, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.”

Kaprow’s self-published booklets from the 1970s, documenting his Activities, are much less comonly encountered than those that were published by various galleries and other institutions.

WARM-UPS is particularly scarce, with only nine institutional holdings found in the United States.

Price: $400.00
