“Treating the body as a monitor of physical events is actually a way of perceiving the self, its feelings and multiple identities. Air Condition is a ‘privacy piece’ meant for an individual alone, which was carried out by seven persons in the hills around the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, in October of 1973.”
Kaprow’s self-published booklets from the 1970s, documenting activities, are much less comonly encountered than those published by various galleries and other institutions. Scarce.
